A student is accused of making a threat to shoot up a middle school in Okeechobee County last week.

The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) says it received a tip about the potential threat to Yearling Middle School on Friday. The sheriff’s office alleges that the student made a post on Snapchat on Aug. 29 stating “shooting up the school today.”
